Collaboration and Supporting Small Businesses

Here is 2022 and I'm busy planning my year, making a list of projects and things I would like to accomplish. As a small business owner I recognise that any support is appreciated. Collaboration is a big word, with artists and small businesses and that isn't something you see as much with larger companies who are competing with each other.
I'd like to mention two artists who are not only good friends, but they provide me with inspiration, stock and help define how I want to run my business. The beauty of working for myself is that I get to choose how, where and what! Is buying from small businesses as profitable? No. But little quirky touches add to the magic of buying something lovely, and showing the customer we want them to enjoy their purchase. That's priceless.
One is Steph at Theia Galleries who produces wildflower seeded cards with her own fantastic artwork and photographs. She came into my life with her zany sense of humour and creativity and suggested I try wire weaving/wrapping. So I did because her enthusiasm was infectious. And here I am. These are the cards that I will use for gift vouchers and yes, they could have been cheaper on Amazon, but how lovely to have paper you won't use that will grow flowers and attract bees!

The other is Tina at Rosaron Designs who lives on a narrowboat (which has been no easy feat for her and her son during lockdown!) and produces some incredibly fine detailed and magical clay pieces inspired by nature. She's a dynamo of energy, and has been a huge source of encouragement and inspiration, as well as a regular gentle (and not so gentle) kick up the rear end when I've needed it. I can only.admire her.

I haven't said a lot more because they're on Facebook and can tell their own stories. Check them out!
The next time you decide to buy a gift or order something online, check your local area or search for small businesses first. You may be pleasantly surprised at what you find.
I'm off to get back in the saddle (properly) and make some jewellery.
Have a lovely day and Be Beautiful ❤
